April has come and gone. It was busier than I hoped it would be, fuller of life than I anticipated, and it went by fast it seems. As I look forward to May and the celebrations it brings for my family, I’m taking time to pause and reflect on my goal progress during April. Below are my 2022 goals, how I did on the plans I made for April, and what I hope to work on in May.
- I will read 36 books currently on my shelf by Christmas 2022, so that I can learn, grow, and relax.
- Read Missional Essentials,
Reclaiming Church, and Conversations Worth Having. (I got really behind here. I did finish White Fragility this month too.) Schedule 4 hours each week to read.Write a book review post when done.(Read them HERE and HERE.)
- Read Missional Essentials,
- I will attend counseling twice a month, so that I can better know myself and love my family well.
Personal and marriage counseling this month.
- I will have at least 30 minutes of healthy movement 3 times a week so that I can fully live life and love my family well.
- Attend Mon/Friday 360 class 7 times. (With travel and some added work stuff, I did not get to the class like I hoped.)
Walk during football/soccer practice.- Try a new YMCA class. (It just didn’t happen this month.)
Take a family hike.(Read about our family hike HERE.)
- I will pamper myself at least once a week so that I can remember I am worthy of care.
Massage on April 20.Get a pedicure.Get a haircut.Sit outside in the sun and read or nap.(I actually did both!)
- I will journal at least 5 times per week so that I can process my life, mature in faith, and remember my growth.
- Use quiet morning time to journal. (Only 17 times total this month.)
- I will take an overnight personal retreat quarterly so that I can rest and plan.
Go to clergy women’s retreat at the end of the month.(This post was written at the beach house!)
- I will have three 1-1 dates each month so that I can strengthen and enjoy my relationships with family and friends.
April 8th – date night with Bill(We actually took a couple of quick late night snack outings and attended a wedding together at the end of the month.)- Use errands and other kids activities as an opportunity to have 1-1 time with other kids. (I did ok with this, but not great and want to do better.)
Have lunch with a friend.(We had a great conversation!)
- I will plan one family trip per quarter so that we can rest and play together.
- Get camper brakes fixed. (appointment is actually scheduled for May)
- Book campsite. (August campsite booked!)
Camping trip after Easter.(Read about our trip HERE.)
- I will complete the coaching certification process this year so that I can help others as they lead a life worthy of their calling.
Make final course payment.Attend 4 scheduled coaching classes.Read Co-active Coaching.Complete coaching session assignment.
- I will develop a guest speaking/preaching ministry so that I can develop a secondary income stream and live into my calling.
Develop a list of potential speaking locations.(Partially done and in process.)Preach on April 10th and 17th.Book future speaking events, no more than two per month.(Now booking for July and beyond!)
- I will save $$$ by Christmas so that we can be prepared in case of an unexpected life emergency.
- File taxes. (We filed an extension. It’s a story, but this year will be extra complicated.)
$$$ to savings.Create May budget.Sell something extra and put money in savings.(Didn’t sell anything, but did put some extra I received into savings.)
