Where did May go? This month goes so fast in our family – mother’s day, wedding anniversary, school ending activities, planning for summer camps, Bill’s birthday… so much to do in May. So much. I spent a lot of this month in what felt like survival mode. I tried to enjoy what was in the moment, yet needed to spend time on summer plans and reworking logistics for some unexpected expenses and changes. So, it was a month that didn’t really turn out like I intended. I’m ok with that.
(Note: I started this blog post on May 26th, intending to finish it up May 31 and post it. Well, on May 30th, our family experienced something VERY unexpected at the end of a month that already had some unexpected things. So, many of my end of the month activities did not happen and have not yet happened. And that is ok. What you see below reflects what I actually did. I have some catch up to do and that is ok.)
Below are my 2022 goals, how I did on the plans I made for May, and what I hope to work on in June.
- I will read 36 books currently on my shelf by Christmas 2022, so that I can learn, grow, and relax.
- Read Missional Essentials,
Conversations Worth Having, and The Connected Church Schedule 4 hours each week to read.Write a book review post when done.Read one review HERE.
- Read Missional Essentials,
I will attend counseling twice a month, so that I can better know myself and love my family well.(attended personal and marriage counseling)- I will have at least 30 minutes of healthy movement 3 times a week so that I can fully live life and love my family well.
- Attend Mon/Friday 360 class 6 times. (I went 5 times)
Walk during football/soccer practice.- Try a new YMCA class. (Again, it just didn’t happen this month. We did go to the Y several times as family and I’m happy with that).
- Take a family hike. (I had planned to do this on Memorial Day, and, well, something more important took priority).
- I will pamper myself at least once a week so that I can remember I am worthy of care.
- Massage on May 18th. (I had to cancel this appointment due to some unexpected expenses that came up.)
Get a cavity filled.- Sit outside in the sun and read or nap. (I had planned this for Memorial Day too, but alas, my day was spent in crisis mode.)
Paint class on May 7th.(I went with a friend and we had so much fun!)
- I will journal at least 5 times per week so that I can process my life, mature in faith, and remember my growth.

Additionally, I have scheduled another coaching client who is bartering services, so is considered a paying client.)- Develop communication to offer coaching through current work. (This is intentionally on hold for the time being.)
- I will develop a guest speaking/preaching ministry so that I can develop a secondary income stream and live into my calling.
- Send out personalized communication to offer guest preaching. (This is currently on hold for the time being.)
Preach on May 15th and 29th.(Done, although there was a hiccup with the first date and I didn’t actually end up preaching.)Book future speaking events, no more than two per month.(Scheduled for June 5 and 27th.)
- I will save $$$ by Christmas so that we can be prepared in case of an unexpected life emergency.
- File taxes. (Still not done…)
- Budget $$$ to savings. (We had unexpected expenses come up this month and were not able to put money into savings and if fact had to take money OUT of savings.)
Create June budget.- Sell something extra and put money in savings.
