So many of us are praying for Haiti and many don’t even know what to pray. Let’s place our prayers here so that others can join in our prayers, get ideas of what to pray for or simply just know that we are doing what we say we’ll do.
God, as you know, I often don’t know what to pray in situations like this. I don’t know the devastation and can’t even begin to understand it. I don’t know what that type of heartache feels like. So at this time, during this disaster in Haiti, I pray for safety for those who are there and going there to provide recovery, rescue and relief. I pray that the resources they need to do the work at hand are readily available. I pray that you give the workers strength, courage and skills they didn’t know they had. I pray that they recognize that what they need has been provided by you. God, I pray that the people of Haiti recognize your love, mercy and grace in the midst of this disaster. While death surrounds them, I pray that they see the life that is possible through your son Jesus Christ. I pray that those workers who love you will share your hope one person at a time. I pray that this devastation leads to the rebuilding of a nation that is much different from the nation Haiti was before. God, I pray that your comfort and peace surround those who are suffering. May your love wrap around them like a gentle and safe hug. In Jesus’ Name I ask these things, Amen.
